"Be the Change" Community Sing
Tuesday, September 13 | 5:30-6:30pm Second Presbyterian Church Members of the Chattanooga community are invited to participate in the choir’s annual community sing event in honor of International Peace Day. All participants will learn Kaplan and Britt’s “Be the Change” on-site and record it with members of the CBC for widespread social media release. Tenor-Bass Choir Festival
Saturday, October 29 | 8:30am-4:00pm Baylor School Students in grades 8-12 are invited for a FREE day of instruction, clinic, and learning new repertoire with the CBC staff, Cantabile Choir, and guest clinician Tucker Biddlecombe (Director of Choral Activities, Vanderbilt University). The day ends in an "informance" featuring the Vanderbilt University Glee Club. Click to Register 2nd Grade Classroom Visits
January and February The CBC staff will work with teachers to schedule a visit during second grade related arts time. CBC staff will present a mini lesson and talk to students about the Chattanooga Boys Choir. Together we'll listen to the students sing and identify those who may enjoy participating in the Chattanooga Boys Choir's programs. Music Educator Open House
Tuesday, October 4 | 5:30-8:00pm Second Presbyterian Church Observe the Junior Chorister Rehearsal, Computer Music Theory Lab and Concert & Cantabile Rehearsal. School Performances | Friday, December 2 10:00am & 12:00pm First Baptist Church, 401 Gateway This year’s program showcases the CBC’s five choirs and the Metropolitan Bells in a program featuring both traditional favorites and modern pieces including Pinkzebra’s “Remembering Decembers” and the David Bowie and Bing Crosby “Little Drummer Boy/Peace on Earth.” Audiences will enjoy exciting new arrangements celebrating a diversity of holiday traditions including “Children, Go Where I Send Thee,” “Bidi Bom,” and “El Cielo Canta Alegria!” and will be inspired by uplifting anthems including “Give Us Hope” by Jim Papoulis and “This Little Light of Mine” arranged by Robert Gibson. Wednesday, March 22 Members of the Mozart and Schubert training choirs will travel to 3-4 HCS elementary schools to present a 20 minute program celebrating Music In Our Schools Month. Schools at which the choir has not performed in the last 5 years will be given priority. |
